Who we Are?
AQUARK is an applied research & technology transfer SME that brings capacity to develop applied solutions as products and services in health management strategies and novel fish nutrition benchmarking tools by creating and managing networks in Mediterranean fish farming industry, the research community and the supply sector. AQUARK that was established in Athens, Greece in 2004, is a leading applied research firm in health and fish nutrition management, acting as technology and innovation amplifier in European Aquaculture. AQUARK’s mission is to consult, innovate, foresee, network, communicate, train, research, advocate, conserve and inspire in the field of aquaculture, as well as the protection and sustainability of global aquatic resources. AQUARK has been involved in several research and development projects in close collaboration with the research community and the fish farming industry at federation and farm level bringing the gap and facilitating smooth technology transfer.

TARGETFISH (2012-2017)

TargetFish was a large collaborative project funded by the European  Commission (Grant Agreement No. 311993) under the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development. OUR ROLE:  WP Leader responsible for field trials of novel vaccines and testing of novel vaccination machines.  Research focus on field testing and design of effective vaccination strategies and delivery protocols.

Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under grant agreement No 652690. The COLUMBUS Consortium was made up of 26 Partners across 14 countries and has been specifically designed to address the call topic and achieve the intended impacts. The Consortium is a balanced, multidisciplinary partnership, containing Pan European organisations which represent a broad constituency of stakeholders in the Marine and Maritime areas.  Role:  AQUARK was Competence Node Leader for Aquaculture. Participating across project in WP2-6. Other inputs to WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5, WP6, WP7, WP8.

Aquark is focused on the development and implementation of the dissemination strategy to ensure seamless innovation and technology transfer to industrial pharmaceutical and fish farming stakeholders. AQUARK assists in the epidemiological analysis of specific parasites and the field testing of solutions and strategies relevant to the Mediterranean mariculture industry. Finally AQUARK acts as Industry Forum leader.
